This document governs your access to and use of Crimson Syndicate | World at War (the “Game”), operated and published by WildHavenGames Studio and WildHavenGames (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, accessing, or playing the Game, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Game.

1. Eligibility & Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Game.
The Game is an online multiplayer experience and is not intended for children under 13.
By using the Game, you represent that you meet the age requirement.

2. Accounts
An account is required to access the Game. Guest accounts are not permitted.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity conducted through your account.
You agree to provide accurate and current information.

3. User Conduct & Community Interaction
The Game allows interaction through player names, profiles, Syndicates (factions), in-game messaging, and Discord. You agree not to:
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
Use hate speech, explicit content, or illegal material.
Exploit bugs, cheats, or unauthorized tools.
Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations.
Interfere with the operation or security of the Game.

We reserve the right to moderate, restrict, remove, or review content and communications at our sole discretion.

4. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for violations of these terms or for behavior that harms the Game or its community.
Terminated or banned accounts may lose access to all progress, purchases, and virtual items.
No guarantees of appeal or reinstatement are provided.
Retention: On termination, account data is retained for 30 days before permanent deletion, unless legally required to retain it longer. You may request a copy of your account data at any time during this period.

5. Virtual Items, Purchases & Subscriptions
The Game includes in-game purchases, subscriptions, and virtual currency.
Taxes: Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes (such as GST/HST), which will be calculated at checkout based on your location.
Payment Processing: All payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store full payment card details.
Refunds: Purchases are generally non-refundable, with refunds handled case-by-case at our discretion.
Right of Withdrawal (EU/UK): By purchasing virtual items or subscriptions, you agree that the content is provided immediately and you waive any statutory right of withdrawal or "cooling off" periods.
Virtual items and currency have no real-world monetary value and are not transferable or redeemable.

6. Analytics, Chat & Communications
We collect and process:
Gameplay analytics and performance data.
In-game chat messages and player communications.
Account activity logs.

This data is used to operate and improve the Game, enforce rules/moderation, and diagnose bugs or exploits.

7. Emails & Notifications
Transactional: We may send emails related to account verification, security, support responses, and service notices.
Marketing: We will not send marketing or promotional emails without your explicit consent (opt-in). If you opt-in, you may unsubscribe at any time in compliance with Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Support responses are typically provided within 16–48 hours.

8. Cookies & Local Storage
The Game and associated website may use cookies and local storage to maintain sessions, store preferences, and ensure core functionality. Disabling cookies may affect functionality.

9. Data Collection & Privacy
We collect:
Email address, username, and profile data.
Gameplay data, analytics, chat, and user-generated content.
Technical data processed via Firebase.

We do not knowingly collect data beyond what is necessary to operate the Game.

10. Data Access & Retention
You may request access to your account data at any time.
Upon account termination, data is retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted.
Some data may be retained longer if strictly required by law or for fraud prevention.

11. Third-Party Services & Data Residency
The Game relies on third-party services including:
Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Database, Infrastructure)
Stripe (Payment Processing)

These services operate under their own privacy policies.

Data Residency: You acknowledge that your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside of Canada (primarily in the United States via Google Cloud/Firebase), and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

12. Intellectual Property
All game content, systems, code, visuals, and branding are owned by WildHavenGames Studio / WildHavenGames unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or exploit any part of the Game without permission.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Game is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding uptime, error-free operation, or the preservation of data, progress, or purchases. Gameplay balance and features may change at any time.

14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We are not responsible for data loss, downtime, bans, or progression loss.
User Content: We are not responsible for the content of messages, names, or profiles created by other players (User-Generated Content).
Your use of the Game is at your own risk.

15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the Game constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
